Paper-based packaging for a changing market

Packaging regulations across US states are moving fast. Extended Producer Responsibility frameworks are making non-recyclable materials more expensive to use, and that is already changing how brand owners and converters think about material choices.

At the same time, barrier coating technology has advanced to the point where paper-based solutions can now meet performance requirements across a wider range of applications than before. Recyclability, barrier performance and cost are starting to converge.

At UPM Specialty Materials, we work with converters and brand owners to develop solutions that work on existing converting lines, meet current and upcoming regulatory requirements, and perform where it counts.
