- UPM and Paramelt have jointly developed a bio‑based and paper‑based recyclable food packaging concept. The solution combines UPM’s advanced barrier base papers with Paramelt’s bio‑based heat‑seal and barrier coating technology, delivering strong grease protection and reliable sealing performance for applications such as bakery, fast food and convenience packaging.
- UPM & Felix Schoeller have developed a customizable, fibre‑based barrier solution for flexible food packaging. Based on UPM Solide™ Lucent packaging paper, the concept enables tailored barrier performance for applications such as chocolate and snack bars while supporting recyclability.
- UPM Specialty Materials & Royal Vaassen will feature a recyclable, PFAS‑free paper solution for pet treat packaging. Designed for demanding applications, the ultra‑high barrier concept combines UPM Solide™ Lucent packaging paper with Royal Vaassen’s Barryrwrap technology to deliver protection against grease, aroma, moisture, oxygen and light.
Huhtamaki's OmniLock solution will also be on display
Visitors to the UPM Specialty Materials stand will also be able to familiarize themselves with Huhtamaki’s OmniLock solution, a high barrier, paper-based packaging concept built on UPM packaging base paper. The solution combines outstanding barrier performance with strong consumer appeal and is designed for recyclability.

UPM Specialty Materials will showcase at Interpack 2026, from May 7 to 13, at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre in Germany.
